Here are ten fantastic bowls of ramen in Tokyo for under ¥1,000 ($6.75 USD). The cost of ramen is rising, but you can still find great bowls for under the ¥1,000 threshold.

These ten shops are some of my favorites at this price point. Don’t get me wrong, there are so many more restaurants out there for cheap ramen, but these offer both quality and cost-performance.

Why are ramen prices rising? Cost of ingredients, labor shortages, and consumer values, just to name a few reasons. Ramen has always had an incredibly difficult profit margin. And we all know the cost of eggs is unforgiving in this economy!

Locations range to all parts of the greater Tokyo area, and some even open at 7:00am. No matter where you are, or what time your craving strikes, one of these ramen will leave you satisfied for less than ¥1,000. Click here to see photos of each shop on my Instagram post.
